About Doctor Mike
Mike Varshavski, known as Doctor Mike, is a practising family-medicine doctor who uses YouTube to explain health topics and debunk medical misinformation.
Video one
His channel's first video, "WELCOME TO MY CHANNEL!" from April 2017, introduced him as a doctor who wanted to make medicine relatable and fun.
The breakthrough
Varshavski first went viral on Instagram around 2015. On YouTube he found an audience by reacting to medical dramas, answering patient questions and fact-checking viral health claims, mixing real expertise with humour.
Today
He still practises medicine in New York while producing videos with a full team, and remains one of the most-followed health creators online.
