About nigahiga
Ryan Higa, known as nigahiga, was one of YouTube's first superstars. His comedy sketches made his channel the most-subscribed on the platform for almost two years.
Video one
The oldest video on the channel is "How to be Ninja", from July 2007, a goofy comedy video made with a friend that became one of YouTube's early viral hits.
The breakthrough
Higa's sketches, parodies and "How to be..." series made nigahiga the most-subscribed channel on YouTube for a 675-day stretch from 2009 to 2011, a record surpassed only by PewDiePie and T-Series since. He was the first creator to reach 2 million and then 3 million subscribers.
Today
Higa launched the podcast Off the Pill in 2018 and stepped back from YouTube in 2020 to stream on Twitch. He has also written a memoir and acted in films.
