About Zach King
Zach King is a filmmaker who makes short videos where everyday moments turn into magic, using visual effects so seamless that viewers rewatch them to work out the trick. He calls it "digital sleight of hand".
Video one
King posted on YouTube from 2008, but his current channel's oldest public video is "My Phone Cooks Popcorn - Vine" from October 2013, one of the six-second "magic vines" that first made him famous.
The breakthrough
On Vine, his short illusions racked up millions of loops. When Vine shut down in 2017, he moved the format to YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, where his clips became some of the most-watched short videos anywhere.
Today
King has published a series of children's books about a young magician, runs his own magic store, and continues to post short illusions on every major platform.
