About Alan's Universe
Alan Chikin Chow is an actor and creator whose channel, Alan's Universe, tells soap-opera-style stories in short-video form. It is the most-subscribed channel built mainly on YouTube Shorts.
Video one
The oldest video on his channel is a 26-second Short from February 2020, "IF LIFE WAS A K-DRAMA". It's an early sign of the bite-sized drama format he would later build into a full series.
The breakthrough
Chow had acted on TV in shows like Grey's Anatomy and I Didn't Do It. His Alan's Universe series, short episodes about friendship, crushes and kindness at a fictional school, took off with Shorts audiences. Bloomberg compared it to classic tween sitcoms.
Today
Alan's Universe is among the most-subscribed channels in the world, and Chow has appeared on Forbes 30 Under 30 and TIME100 Creators lists.
