About SmarterEveryDay
Destin Sandlin is an engineer who runs Smarter Every Day, a science channel built on curiosity and stunning slow-motion footage.
Video one
The channel's first video goes back to January 2007: "How to Light a Bonfire with Rockets", which is exactly what it sounds like.
The breakthrough
Sandlin's enthusiastic explorations of how things work, from bullet ballistics to how cats land on their feet, grew a loyal audience. In 2016 he was one of three YouTubers chosen to interview President Obama after his final State of the Union address.
Today
He still makes Smarter Every Day videos and also runs a second channel and the No Dumb Questions podcast. His request to viewers: "Watch 2 videos. If you learn something AWESOME, please subscribe."
