About Tom Scott
Tom Scott is a British presenter who made short, fascinating educational videos about places, language, science and technology, filmed on location around the world.
Video one
His oldest public video is "Breakfast: Fortified With Iron" from June 2006, an early comedy clip from long before his educational work.
The breakthrough
Scott first got media attention as a student for a parody government website. His channel took off after 2014 with Things You Might Not Know, along with series like Language Files and Amazing Places.
Today
In January 2024, after ten years of weekly videos, Scott stopped regular uploads to take a break. He continues to work on projects including the Lateral podcast.
